Bookdating by LIVErtising students (assignment)
A couple of months ago I invited all future Master 1 advertising majors at IHECS to Bridge the Gap to their LIVErtising English course. The idea was to select an interesting marketing communication book to further their understanding of the field. Read it. And produce a media object that captures the gist of the book.
I am now very glad I can share the result with you all. I have posted all those media objects on the Bookdating page of this site in the form of a Listly set of social bookmarks. This will enable all of you not only to discover your peers’ work, but also to evaluate each other using comments, shares and likes.
The result seems very inspiring to me. I have decidedly given up a traditional academic approach, something like “write an article or abstract about your book”. I surmised a media project would be more engaging to you, IHECS students. My first impression is that I was right, but am hoping for comments below with your reactions.
Now that the projects are online, your job is not done yet: discover what interests you in the other students’ media objects, learn from each other, comment, ask questions, make suggestions, express objections. Then like or dislike honestly. And share, share, share if you feel it is worth it.
