You do not need to be a communication guru to claim that SO-LO-MO is not just a buzzword. Communication is now inherently social, local and mobile, which does not prevent it from keeping seemingly contradictory characteristics: it is for example GLObal as well as LOcal. This is something we’ve been hammering on in the LIVErtising approach.
One major consequence for e-mail marketers shows in the inescapable fact: consider that very soon your emails will open on a mobile screen rather than on a traditional computer. Figures in October 2013 are about to reach the 50% milestone, as reported by Justin Jordane in her latest video post.
Act now to adapt to this new reality – adapt your format to the mobile experience. Be responsive. Use responsive design to cater for the needs of the mobile reader.
